We’re excited to announce the release of VSAR 2.3, the latest edition of our solution for creating photorealistic graphics and virtual environments for broadcasters. It delivers more consistent and realistic visuals, deeper integration with Unreal®-based workflows, user experience enhancements, and reliability improvements designed to enhance live productions.

VSAR 2.3 allows operators to create more complex and realistic 3D virtual scenes to take live productions to the next level.
VSAR 2.3 is compatible with Unreal Engine 5.6. This enhances visual consistency, performance, and stability in live production workflows while keeping VSAR aligned with the Unreal Engine ecosystem and future developments.
VSAR extended the lens workflow to also support native Unreal Lens Files into VSAR's Cesium Camera, enabling the use of distortion information from physical lenses directly in VSAR, which refines alignment between virtual elements and the live camera feed. It further increases realism in augmented reality and virtual productions, and also saves time by enabling users to access Unreal Lens Files that are already calibrated and validated from existing libraries.

The new edition of VSAR includes functionalities designed to save time, create real-time automations, and simplify day-to-day operations.
With Live Assist Panels 2.9, Chyron’s HTML5 application for designing web-based control panels, VSAR introduces a new set of intuitive drag-and-drop widgets. Adding to the existing robust scripting language, users can now customize the solution with the controls they need for their projects, such as Actor Selector, Level Sequence Selector, Blueprint Selector, and more.
VSAR 2.3 increases operational efficiency and reinforces its integration within the Chyron ecosystem. If VSAR is open, Live Assist Panels can directly launch VSAR projects to streamline production workflows and allow operators to manage Unreal project elements such as cameras, lights, and object positions.

VSAR 2.3 is designed to seamlessly integrate within any standard Unreal-based existing environment.
In addition to the standard full build offering, VSAR can now be deployed as a plugin within any standard Unreal Engine instance. This simplifies adoption for Unreal users and enables the inclusion of VSAR in existing Unreal-based virtual production workflows. VSAR’s plugin acts as a bridge between Unreal production workflows and on-air delivery. It connects Unreal Engine environments with CAMIO and NRCS systems within Chyron’s broadcast production workflow.

This release includes a set of backend improvements to enhance overall reliability.
