Virtual Placement 8.1 enhances the Automatic Chroma Keyer with greater flexibility during live production. Operators can now switch between manual and automatic chroma keying in real time, making it easier to respond to changing field conditions without interrupting the workflow. In normal weather, the system automatically adjusts to sunlight and shadows across the field, reducing the need for constant operator intervention.
The auto keyer also performs better across multiple cameras, helping teams maintain cleaner, more consistent results throughout the broadcast.

This release introduces a program-to-isolated camera feed comparison workflow that supports VP as a downstream solution. The workflow helps reduce delay compared with more complex competitive approaches, adding confidence that the correct calibration is loaded when a camera goes to air on a PGM feed. For operators, that means a more dependable fail-safe process at the moment a feed becomes live.
The first phase supports one isolated feed and also establishes a strong foundation for future workflow expansion, including multi-ISO support and more precise advert logging.
