We’re pleased to announce the release of AXIS Maps 2.0, the latest edition of our intuitive maps production platform for broadcasters.
The features included in this update empower users with more flexibility when creating and exporting their maps, enhance visual consistency across assets within a project, streamline the map-building process, and increase operational reliability to make daily operations more efficient.

To support mobile-first storytelling and social media platforms, AXIS Maps 2.0 now includes a 9:16 aspect ratio. Users can change the aspect ratio with just one click and create map visuals specifically designed for vertical screens, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
This update provides more flexibility to tell stories consistently across platforms, adapting to how audiences consume news today.
The Map Labels tool has been improved to ensure a more intuitive editing experience. New functionalities are now available, such as:
Direct Selection - allows users to click a label in the list and immediately edit it on the map, saving valuable time during production
Font Constraints - allows teams to define minimum and maximum size limits to preserve visual consistency
Localized Point of Interest (POI) Labels - automatically adapts place names based on language settings to enable tailoring maps for different audiences.
The transition from design to distribution is now streamlined with new export destinations. With expanded integration, users can save map outputs directly to AXIS Track for centralized asset management.
Additionally, the Track module’s existing FTP Delivery functionality has been expanded to support assets generated by AXIS Maps 2.0. Seamless transfer of map files to designated FTP folders is now available through the interface, enabling automation tools and production workflows to manage these new assets automatically.

AXIS Maps 2.0 comprises a set of features designed to maintain a consistently branded look across all maps, which is key for distributed teams and hub-and-spoke workflows.
Improved dark and light default themes are now included in AXIS Maps 2.0. These serve as starting points, allowing administrators to visualize different options and select the one that best fits the project before fine-tuning specific branding elements.
The Map Styles Editor has been redesigned to provide greater control over the map's visual appearance by defining branded presets across projects via intuitive new tools, such as the Theme Editor, Locator Styles, and Custom Safe Titles. By using already approved presets for their maps, users can deliver broadcast-ready visuals faster.
The new Theme Editor gives administrators full control over the visual appearance of maps. They can easily define landmass colors, label textures, environmental lighting, and other graphic elements, creating a cohesive look that reflects each show’s identity.
Visual styles for geographic markers, target markers, and callout pointers can now be customized and applied across projects. This ensures that every locator element follows the same visual standards while supporting each show’s branding.
Now it’s possible to upload custom safe-title overlays to match specific broadcast standards, ensuring all relevant content on the map remains visible and properly framed during fast-paced live productions. This feature helps guarantee maps are ready for air, with all relevant information positioned within approved safe areas.

This release enables users to build production-ready maps more efficiently via smarter navigation tools that optimize day-to-day usability.
The bookmark system has been completely rebuilt to provide users with the ability to save and restore the exact state of their map, including visibility settings, road details, boundaries, specific routes, polygon settings, and map icons, enabling them to reutilize saved map views. It saves time and increases customization by enabling the creation of multiple bookmarks that support different kinds of stories.
AXIS Maps now features a redesigned Quick Panel that makes frequently used tools and bookmarks easier to find and access, improving clarity and making daily map content creation more efficient.

The overall AXIS platform was updated to provide higher operational reliability with performance and back-end refinements that streamline daily operations.
To strengthen security and provide a smoother experience with the Single Sign-On (SSO) implementation, released in December 2025, optimizations to how AXIS handles user sessions have been deployed, including smart session refresh, clearer notifications, and enhanced session state stability.
The Order Module now includes a set of back-end adjustments to provide a more reliable workflow experience, as well as the new Auto-Refresh functionality, which ensures the information showcased for all requests is updated, helping teams stay organized and focused on delivering graphics on time.
AXIS Maps 2.0 delivers mobile-first vertical support, enhanced branding controls, smarter navigation, and streamlined export workflows, helping teams create visually consistent, production-ready maps faster across broadcast and digital platforms.
